7-Day Iceland Photography Adventure Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
Arrival at Keflavik Airport and transfer to Reykjavik
Evening walk around Reykjavik: Harpa, Hallgrímskirkja, and Old Town
Introductory photography workshop: techniques, camera settings, and trip preparation
Overnight stay in Reykjavik

 

Day 2: Golden Circle – Geysers and Waterfalls
Departure for the Golden Circle
Photography session at Gullfoss waterfall: capturing the power of cascading water
Photographing Strokkur geyser eruptions
Compositional techniques and natural lighting workshop in Þingvellir National Park
Optional evening session chasing the Northern Lights (seasonal)
Overnight stay near Selfoss

 

Day 3: South Coast – Black Beaches and Waterfalls
Morning session at Seljalandsfoss waterfall (opportunity to shoot from behind the falls)
Visit to Skógafoss waterfall: capturing rainbows in the mist
Photography on the black sand beach of Reynisfjara with basalt columns and sea stacks
Optional session at the Sólheimasandur plane wreck
Overnight stay in Vik

 

Day 4: Vatnajökull Glacier and Jökulsárlón Lagoon
Morning photography at Diamond Beach: glacial ice on black sand
Session at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon: capturing floating icebergs
Optional boat trip to photograph icebergs from the water
Workshop on working with contrasts in icy landscapes
Overnight stay near Skaftafell

 

Day 5: Skaftafell National Park – Waterfalls and Glacier Views
Morning session at Svinafellsjökull Glacier
Trek to Svartifoss waterfall for a session focusing on basalt columns and water motion
Techniques for long exposure shots in natural settings
Overnight stay in Skaftafell

 

Day 6: Return to Reykjavik – Golden Hour Landscapes
Photography stops along the South Coast for open plains and volcanic scenery
Optional visit to the Secret Lagoon for relaxation
Evening session in Reykjavik: night photography of city lights or Northern Lights (seasonal)
Overnight stay in Reykjavik

 

Day 7: Farewell to Iceland
Final sunrise photography session by Reykjavik’s harbor or scenic spots
Free time for shopping or additional exploration
Transfer to Keflavik Airport
Departure
