7-Day Morocco Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakesh
Arrival at Marrakesh airport and transfer to a riad in the medina
A walking tour of Marrakesh: Jemaa el-Fna Square, Ben Youssef Madrasa, Bahia Palace
Dinner in a traditional restaurant featuring Moroccan delicacies
Overnight stay in Marrakesh
Day 2: Marrakesh – Imlil – Start of Trekking
Transfer to Imlil village in the High Atlas Mountains (approximately 1.5 hours)
Meeting with guides and muleteers and beginning the trek
Trekking to the village of Aremd and Tizi Mzik Pass (2489 m)
Views of Aït Mizane Valley and volcanic peaks
Overnight stay in a mountain hut or a traditional Berber guesthouse
Day 3: Aremd – Refuge du Toubkal
Trekking to the Refuge du Toubkal (3207 m), the base camp for summit attempts
Hiking through Tizi n’Ouagane Pass and scenic valleys
Views of the highest peaks of the High Atlas Mountains
Overnight stay at Refuge du Toubkal
Day 4: Ascent of Jebel Toubkal (4167 m)
Early morning ascent of North Africa’s highest peak
Panoramic views of the Sahara, the Atlas Mountain range, and Moroccan plains
Descent back to the refuge for rest
Return trek to Imlil
Overnight stay in a local guesthouse in Imlil
Day 5: Imlil – Aït Ben Haddou – Sahara Desert
Transfer through the scenic High Atlas Mountains to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou
Tour of the historic ksar known for its earthen architecture
Continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert
Overnight stay in a traditional Berber camp in the desert
Day 6: Sunrise and Trekking on the Dunes
Witness the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi
Morning desert trek with local guides
Return to the camp for breakfast and transfer to Ouarzazate
Visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and surrounding areas
Overnight stay in Ouarzazate
Day 7: Return to Marrakesh
Transfer back to Marrakesh via Tizi n’Tichka Pass
Free time for shopping or exploring the medina
Transfer to the airport and departure
